What is PCA Services?

Personal care assistance services (PCA) provide assistance and support for person with disabilities that need assistance in activities of daily, living independently in the community. It includes the elderly and others with special health care needs. PCA services are provided in the recipients home or in the community when normal activities take him or her outside the home.

Who can be a PCA to the Recipient?

After a recipient are assessed and gets approved for pca services, the responsible party or the recipient must select a MHCP enrolled pca provider agency. The pca can be a family member who meet the employment requirement or the pca agency can hire a pca for the recipient.
